Reflecting on the TEA Salon With Alina Rybina

On 26th July, The Engagement Appeal hosted its first ever operatic salon, featuring both musical performance and topical business discussion. Attending the event were an eclectic mix of city professionals and creatives – an intersection worthy of TEA’s hopes to bring the worlds of art and finance together, where they might not typically be seen.

The event begun with welcome a from TEA’s CEO Sheryl Cuisia, followed by the first set of musical performances from our Classical Arts Ambassador Alina Rybina. Alina is a Ukrainian opera singer, currently based in the UK, who is passionate about connecting people through music. She wowed the room with her renditions of classical songs, which included Mozart’s ‘Deh Vieni Non Tardar’, and Strauss’ ‘Adele Waltz’.

The panel of guests were then welcomed into a discussion on the state of UK capital markets, through the guide of The Engagement Appeal. Our mission to make the stock market more diverse, equitable, and intelligible for the layman by increasing the rights of shareholders, and empowering them with the knowledge of how they can make a difference in corporate governance, is at the heart of this conversation. It is the hope of TEA that events like this can continue to build networks and community, enlivening the city with its rich and diverse interests, and placing conversations of business capital with different arenas, such as the arts.
